Hard to grow peppers on your own? With this trick and second tip, you can do it.
They are plants that actually grow in warm countries. Dry seeds germinate very slowly. This can take up to 2-3 weeks. Some species even take 4 weeks. Peppers germinate more easily than peppers, so I just sow them in a pot of potting soil. Peppers go trickier. I tried it in Earth this year but nothing comes to mind. Last year I had them germinated in pouches and that went really well. Place them in between coffee filters and then in a zip bag. I hear from other gardeners that 'Annuums' sprout perfectly in a container of earth on the windowsill. So check the bag what kind you have. If your peppers don't come up either, try it this way. (Another second tip at the bottom of this page; SUPER EASY)
You'll do the following:
- Cut the filter open on one side so you can easily flip it open.
- Write with pen on which seeds you will put in. If you want, write the date. I plan everything in my calendar, so I can always check it out.
- Wet the filter completely and spread out on the countertop.
- Next, place the seeds near the dense side (on the fold if you have large round filters).
- Close the filter and slide into the zip pouch.
- Zip pouch not completely closed, but keeping a small opening.
- Then on the wifi receiver or Apple TV cabinet.
- Check if the stuff is still damp every few days. 'Humid'! Not dripping wet!
- When you see a root tip formed after a week or 2-3, you can gently transfer the seed into a pot with moist soil.
- Now the potty can be in the windowsill. Preferably in a warm place.
- Wait a while to plant out in the greenhouse/conservatory, as these heat-loving plants like to have warmed earth at their feet. This is more important than the air temperature.

Tip 2:
I was late sowing myself and reminiscent of what I had once heard: fresh seeds that you get out of a bell pepper, germinate much faster. That's what I tried and it's right.! Just cut the seeds out of an organic bell pepper (with the white they're attached to) in a jar of soil. Not hard to do with toddling and counting how many seeds you put in the jar. There's always a percentage that doesn't germinate. The only downside is that you have no idea what kind of bell pepper it is, because it never stands.

Dan drink je geen koffie meer zodat je de filters daarvoor gebruiken kan 😀
